The main character in the book Uglies is Tally. Tally is a 15 year old girl in the town of Ugly. Tally is only wanting to become pretty in 3 months. She also can't wait to see her friend Peris in pretty town. Tally broke into the New Pretty town to go and see Peris which is something she is not suppose to do. She is not allowed to do this because only pretties are accepted in pretty town and uglies are not suppose to be there until they are 16 years of age. On her way back she met a girl name Shay and they became friends instantly.
The character Shay and the character Tally are very different people. Tally only cares about becoming pretty but on the other hand Shay is trying to hold on to these last few months because she does not want to become pretty. Also they are different because they have different opinions about pretty town. Tally thinks that pretty town will be fun and she wants to go but Shay thinks its boring that everyone will be doing the same thing. I like my main character because she doesn't just want to become pretty just to do it. She wants to become pretty so she can see her old friend not just for looks but to have fun with people who are accepted. But Shay disagrees.
You have very good points about Tally. Although, I really don't like Tally because she doesn't have any other thing to say really except about becoming pretty. She doesn't even think about the possibility of staying ugly.

ReplyDeleteI disagree on that. I do not like Tally. She shouldn't just want to become pretty because of Peris she should want to become pretty because it's her choice.
