(Victoria G.) Scott Westerfeld

Scott Westerfeld is the author of Uglies and many other books. Scott has wrote 18 novels. 13 are for young adults. He was born in Texas and splits his time between New York City and Sydney, Australia. He's best known for four sets of young adult books. Those book are the Uglies series, Leviathan trilogy, Midnighters, and The New York Trilogy. The Uglies are one of his most popular series.
Scott has wrote 7 series. One of them being the Uglies. Scott got his inspiration for writing the Uglies from the "Tripods series where when you turn sixteen you get capped  -- you get this plate put in you head, which is supposedly a sign that you're a man or adult, and of course it turns out to be a terrible thing". Scott also says that he he "pretty much ripped that off from John Christopher in the Uglies.  I think that he wrote this book to imagine what a future world could be like. What could happen if we keep focauseing on beauty instead of personality.  That is why I think Scott Westerfeld wrote the Uglies.

  1. I agree I think he wrote this to imagine what the future would be like. I also think her wrote this to show us that we shouldn't do what everyone is expected to do. We should be different and independent.
