The main character in the book Uglies is Tally. Tally only cares about becoming pretty. Her friend, Peris, is now a pretty and she has to wait 3 months to see him again. Tally met a girl named Shay and they right away became friends. Tally is rebellious, but only whenever she wants something. Tally broke into the New Pretty Town to see her friend. Which doing that is very bad because Tally is not pretty, so she is not allowed in New Pretty Town.
Tally only has her mind set on one thing and that is becoming pretty. I personally do not like Tally for a couple reasons in particular. A reason is because all she cares about is becoming pretty. She thinks everyone wants to become pretty and she finds it hard to believe that her friend Shay does not want to become pretty. She also spends all of her time talking, thinking and relying on being pretty. She thinks it's okay for her to trick the different devices, sneak out, etc. because she will soon be pretty and that stuff will not matter anymore. She is also very uptight and only wants to do things that has to do with becoming pretty, but when she meets Shay she starts to loosen up a bit and have a little fun.
I agree with almost everything that you said I just worded it differently. I said that she looks past all the bad things like with Peris. I like how you worded the second paragraph it stands out has a lot of evidence to back your opinions back

ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinions. I think that is very focused on being pretty which isn't good. I don't really like Tally either.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said and that's how I also feel about the main character and this book.
